Description

The box for the Punk 85W comes wrapped in plastic. Remove the plastic and open the box to find your Punk 85W mod sitting in a foam insert. Remove the foam insert and underneath, you will find all of the paperwork and a high-quality, braided USB cable. I always like the USB cables that Tesla provides. They are definitely one of the nicer ones in the industry.

Out of the box, this thing looks just fantastic. It’s basically a slimmer version of the 220 watt Punk with a centered 510. It’s got the same exact kind of look just in a smaller form factor. Just like its big brother, this one has those awesome clear side panels with LED lights. There’s no doubt about it, this one is a looker.

From Top To Bottom
On the top side, we have a center mounted 510 connection. I’m glad Tesla’s listening to their customers. They didn’t center the 510 on the Punk 220W mod but they did on this version. Kudos to them for doing that. There is a stainless steel plate going around the 510 with six cutouts that make the plate look like a star. The threading in the plate is stainless steel and very smooth. So far, all of my atomizers have sat flush on this mod. The 510 pin is gold plated and spring loaded. The spring on it is very stiff and the throw is what I would classify as a medium sort of throw. All in all, it’s a real high-quality, 510 connection and that is something I have come to expect from Tesla mods.

With the screen facing you, on the right side of the mod, we have a Steampunk theme. There seems to be all sorts of pipes, gears, and circuits under a clear plastic display. The clear plastic is held in place by four screws, one in each corner. The plastic part of it is very sturdy and clear. It does feel like a very hard plastic. I have had no issues with it scratching or getting dinged up.
On the left side of the mod, we have the same sort of clear plastic with some more gears. There is also some sort of screening that has LED lights behind it. The lights are customizable and there are five different types of lighting effects that you can choose from on this mod. It’s also a multicolored light show with the colors red, blue, and green. You also have the choice to turn the lights off if that’s just not your thing.

On the front side of the mod, we have a beautiful fire button. It is circular in shape and very clicky. It is raised up from the surface of the mod and it has a really great feel to it. It is slightly lighter than the color of the mod but I like the contrast that it provides. On the panel that the fire button is located on, there are also some smooth cutouts along the side that give the mod a really nice shape. Those same exact cut outs are also present on the backside of the mod.
Below the fire button is where the screen is located. We have all seen this screen before, especially if you have owned a Tesla Mod in the past. It’s basically the same screen that you will find on the WYE mod. It’s a nice, bright, screen with a beautiful layout and an easy to read font. On the screen, you will be able to see your resistance, voltage, preheat, material, wattage, temperature, and battery life.
Below the screen is where the up and down buttons are located. The up button is on the right and the down button is on the left. They are square in shape with rounded off corners. They have the same exact feel as the fire button and they are raised up off the body of the mod. However, there is a rectangular cut out that they sit in, so the buttons actually do sit flush with the body of the mod even though they are raised up out of the cut out. All the buttons are solid with absolutely no button rattle.
