How does Vaping works?

Vaping works when e-liquid is heated, creating vapour that is then inhaled and exhaled. E-liquids are available in different nicotine strengths and even without nicotine. Vaping is considered a healthier alternative to smoking.

What are the main components of electronic cigarettes?

A vapour consists of 3 main components:

1. Battery or Mod machine

2. Tank (filled the e-liquid). Usually, a plastic or glass vial with a wick inside and a coil of resistance wire that gets hot.

3. E-liquid or Vape liquid

The battery sends a current through the coil of resistance wire (inside the Tank) wrapped around a wick or cotton ball, which is gently heated to a vaporizer, transforming the saturated e-liquid into vapour.

What is in e-liquid?

E-cigarettes do not contain real tobacco or other harmful ingredients like carbon monoxide and tar found in traditional cigarettes. Instead, electronic cigarettes use a liquid nicotine solution called e-liquid or e-juice. What exactly is an e-liquid? E-Liquid consists of four essential ingredients; Water, nicotine, aromas and a base of propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin (or sometimes a mixture of PG and VG).

Nicotine: The addictive ingredient found in e-cigarettes and traditional cigarettes. Nicotine stimulates the central nervous system and increases blood pressure, respiration, and heart rate. When nicotine enters the brain, it triggers a feeling of pleasure as dopamine levels rise. Manufacturers tend to offer their products in different nicotine strength ranges, ranging from zero to 36 milligrams per millilitre. Although not considered a carcinogen, nicotine is still addictive and, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, can "prime the brain for addiction to other substances."

Flavours: There are over seven thousand flavours, including Cherry, Coconut, Berry, Fresh Apple, Sweet Pie, Cinnamon, and even Tobacco. It would be impossible to list all of the flavour-creating chemicals here, but one chemical that stands out is diacetyl. Diacetyl is commonly used to impart a buttery flavour to popcorn. Although I think that the chemical product is easily swallowed, there is more than enough evidence that the inhalation of diacetyl can cause an incurable malady called obliterating bronchiolitis (OB), likewise continued under the name of "common" popcorn".

Propylene Glycol (PG): This laboratory-made liquid is generally considered safe by the FDA in food, drug, and cosmetics. It is also used to create artificial smoke or fog for performances. However, it can irritate the lungs and eyes and may be more harmful to people with chronic lung conditions such as asthma and emphysema.

Why does the e-liquid come out of the Vape (atomizer) and into my mouth?

If the coil is too saturated, the excess e-liquid in the atomizer can overflow the Tank, and you can end up with drops of e-liquid on your lips/mouth. If you get e-liquid in your mouth, it's a good idea to rinse your mouth with plenty of water.

How to mix a quick refill e-liquid:

Step 1: Add your chosen nicotine strength to a 0mg non-nicotine e-liquid. Be sure to refer to the guidelines below to determine how many nic shots you should add to achieve your desired strength.

Step 2: Remove the cap and mouthpiece from your chosen non-nicotine refill. A pair of non-slip gloves and a small tool will help lift the spring.

Step 3: Remove the cap and security seal from the nicotine dispenser. Squeeze the liquid of your bottle into your nicotine-free refill, being careful not to spill. Wash hands and surfaces thoroughly with warm water in case of spillage.

Step 4: Once the nicotine hit has fully transferred to your nicotine-free refill, replace the mouthpiece, remove any existing temporary silicone seals, and ensure they form a solid seal.

Step 5: Replace the cap and shake the bottle by hand for five to ten minutes to ensure your fill and nicotine strength are thoroughly mixed.
